Hello!

Since I became a mother, all my creative efforts went into the vault and I stopped making a lot of art like I used to.   Luckily my son is now in school more, and I am finding the creative spirit returning to me.   Though I don't plan on having a shop any time soon, or even really selling my art much it is still very rewarding to me sharing my art.

I have decided to return to some painting and drawing ideas I have had for a long time but never pursued before.  I am fiddling around with some water colors too.  I am mostly posting my updates on instagram, please follow me there for more regular updates!

On my creative agenda going forward are some cool dioramas, watercolor and acrylic creations. I would like to get into embroidery more but that is a slow burn project that may take forever for me to commit to.  Here are a few lil acrylic succulent dudes that I have been working on for an art donation to a silent auction at my sons school:

Cinco de Monsters!

These two really love spring and are getting ready to celebrate their excitement about all the lovely sunshine they have been enjoying. They have some flowers to share that they recently spent all day gathering!

Monster Games!

"...may the odds ever be in your favor..."

not those kind of games!!  Vicky, a very talented graphic artist over at Two Hand Design, commissioned me a few months ago for a custom monster to use in her photography for her brand new, super cute, awesome Monster Game!   She recently posted it up for purchase over at her Etsy store, and its a very fun and cheery game for all ages:

Come visit her and check out the fun Monsters and other really beautiful art she creates!

Eclectic Clay

I've been working on some new things in the studio lately, getting ready for spring.  I've had so many inspirations and ideas recently, and not as much time to get them made so my drawing journal is getting nice and full.

The big news is that the shop is going to diversify into some other polymer clay creations other than just monsters!  Should be fun, and I'm going to artfully figure out how to incorporate all the creations.

Here is a recent picture of my art table taken last weekend, as you can see, lots of different things in the works:

And here is an art project I was working on as a birthday gift for my Aunt.  She's quite partial to hands, so I wanted to make an ornamental one with some layered decorative clay.  I also painted the frame I glued it onto:

This picture shows the work in progress, but I almost forgot to take the picture and the light had changed so I could not stay consistent with the colors, but here it is to show :-)

and the final art:

More monsters (and dragons!!!) coming soon!

Cheers,
Jennifer

love monster iNvaSioN !!

some new love monsters are making their way over to the Etsy store this week!   I am experimenting with a new way to do their eye's, and all of them have tiny little tails and a heart pattern on their back (made from a heart stamp I made).

Francis The Packer

Francis has joined the gang over at the Etsy store

"Francis had a rough start in life. Her parents liked the goblin wine a bit too much so she kept being pulled back and forth between her relatives. She is an expert packer because of it, and travels light. She is well regarded for her expertise in sorting out belongings so they all fit into a nutshell ready for travel. She has a business plan for how to start her own packing consultation service that she hopes to launch by 2013. In the meantime, she's really looking for a permanent home to live in."

You can visit Francis and other members of the monster gang
